Dental decay is the most common non-communicable disease in the world and yet is completely preventable.
In many parts of the developing world, especially in rural areas, millions of people have no access to dental care and suffer with the constant pain of toothache, abscesses and diseases with no hope of relief.
Dentaid is a charity dedicated to improving access to quality dental care even in the most remote and disadvantaged parts of the world.
Dentaid offers dental professionals in the developing world the resources they need to provide a complete Oral Health Care Package to their communities.
The DentaidBox; a portable dental surgery in a wheelie bin, is our latest innovation to help even the most remote communities gain access to pain relieving dental treatment and forms part of Dentaid's Oral Health Care Package along with educational resources and training.
Dentaid also provides exciting opportunities for UK dental professionals to experience first-hand the oral health care needs in developing countries and use their skills to provide some dental care and oral health education to those communities.
Dentaid also has projects in the UK providing dental treatment for vulnerable people who find it difficult to access NHS care. The charity’s mobile dental unit will visit homeless shelters, day centres and projects run by our charity partners to provide pain relieving dental treatments. The Dentaid mobile dental unit also visits schools to deliver oral health education sessions as part of Dentaid’s BrightBites programme.
